Rod Holdaway is a self-employed Educational Therapist and artist who works with students in both Primary and Secondary Schools. He is based in Sydney, Australia.

Rod exhibits his paintings and drawings at Stella Downer Fine Art in Sydney Australia.

Rod is a Special Education teacher and artist with over 30 years experience in teaching children and young people. He specialises in teaching literacy to primary school children. In recent years his teaching has extended across to include secondary school students up to and including Year 12. He also teaches numeracy to children who are experiencing learning difficulties.

Rod has worked as a Learning Support Teacher in both primary and secondary schools. He was the Special Needs Coordinator for 5 years in a Primary school in Sydney’s Western Suburbs. He also ran a successful and much loved Readers Theatre program in an Eastern Suburbs Primary school for 7 years and has run his own Educational Therapy program teaching children in primary and early secondary schools for 14 years. He has proven success teaching students with a wide range of special needs: emotional, behavioural, intellectual, physiological, developmental, hearing impaired and language processing difficulty. Rod is the author of the Barrington Stokes teacher’s resource books published by Scholastic in 2003.
